Staycation — I have to get away

Gina already posted about our Memorial Day vacation but she didn’t add what we did after that.  We came back from Boelus early on Tuesday afternoon because Gina had to work later that day.  I had the next day off, and had a list that I was going to do that day — mainly, take the car in to the shop and make my Springtime Menards run.  Instead of sitting around, I took the care in and they fixed it in record time (I told them it was the battery when I went in).  And, while Gina was working, Leah helped me at Menards.  Thus was I was done with my Wednesday morning list and it was  still Tuesday!!

So, on Wednesday morning Gina, Leah, and I headed to the zoo. Gina and Leah go quite often, but I usually don’t.  And I don’t think all three of us had been there together for, like, two years.  It was a little chilly, but we got to see the new butterfly house — and it’s pretty cool.  Leah even like the butterflies over the gorillas!  Who would have thought that . . .

For lunch, I drove us to a Mexican place that I went to once for a work thing.  Guca Maya has a really wonderful and authentic  Mexican  buffet for lunch.  None of us left disappointed, nor hungry.

We probably had as much fun on our day around Omaha than we did in Boelus, minus the mud.  And it’s still cheaper than driving somewhere or, even worse, flying!  You know you had a good trip when your co-workers are telling you that you still have the vacation glow about you.

We are planning more Staycations as the summer rolls on . . .
