Self-Disclosure Tag
David, aka Nubi tagged me and I guess I’m it. I’m supposed to:
- Link to the person that tagged you, and post the rules on your blog.
- Share 7 facts about yourself.
- Tag 7 random people at the end of your post, and include links to their blogs.
So #1 is done. Let’s move on to #2:
- I really hate talking on the telephone. Email, IM, and text messaging are fine, but I find talking on the phone too disruptive. Maybe because the social rules for talking on the phone is that you are supposed to focus everything on them and on email, IM, and in texting you can multitask.
- When I was younger, I had a speech impediment that my school was choosing to ignore. About in third-grade my parents raised a ruckus. So in fourth grade I found myself in speech therapy twice a week. I spent three years in speech therapy and it must of worked because most people are surprised when they find this out. To this day, however, I have to think about saying the world “peculiar”, “soldier” and “shoulder”. They sound fine out of my mouth, but they feel funny to me.
- My favorite Old Testament character is Samuel. I find him a very tragic character and a person that modeled servant leadership. He had to come out of retirement to take the reins back from his sons, who were failures to God and His people. Then Samuel anointed a king for Israel, even though he knew it come to a bad end. And then he had to do it over again when that king turned away from God. Through it all, he stayed faithful to God and a great leader for Israel.
- It scared me when I realized that my daughter thinks that I fix everything and do anything that I want. But now I enjoy it because I know there will come a time when my daughter will think her dad is the dumbest oaf on the planet.
- If I presently had a mutant power, it would be that computers and other electronic equipment start behaving the moment I enter a room. The real ornery ones start working the moment I touch them. This is no lie — ask my wife. It drives her crazy!
- Related to #2, the exceptions to the electronic equipment that behaves in my very presence are printers, copiers, and fax machines. These devices take it upon themselves to punish me for my overruling powers. Seriously, I have a hard time getting a printer to work on any machine.
- Of all the things I’ve done and all the places I’ve been, I still find the biggest challenge in my life is being a husband and father. And, yet, I find those two titles the most rewarding.
Who should I tag for their self-disclosure? I think I may even know seven bloggers . . .

Must be the curse of the first linkie (CotFL) (Hey, why does that sound like a George Martin novel?)
Anyway, Gina’s link is kaput!

That would assuming that Martin ever publishes another Fire and Ice book again.
Link fixed. I hope the CotFL doesn’t carry on to these people.
Oh, and thanks.
