Bad Configs with Aquamacs

I’ve been using Aquamacs more and more lately and, properly configured, it’s more or less like TextMate. In some cases better, and worse in others.

I pretty much use Icicles for loading all my files, switching buffers, etc. With the color scheme I was using, it was impossible to see Icicles’s completions. So I needed to change my color theme.

That’s when the trouble happened.

I could go on and on about what all went wrong — but to make it short, what should have been five minutes turned out to be an hour ordeal. Because I didn’t use Aquamacs’s configuration scheme — I used the standard GNU Emacs scheme. Let my ordeal be a lesson to everyone. If you are using Aquamacs then put your configuration on ~/Library/Preferences/Aquamacs Emacs. Because your life will be easier.
