A Cool Place On A Hot Afternoon
It has been near or at 100 F for three days. Leah couldn’t go
outside, and was restless. She was really searching for something to
do all day Friday and Saturday. On Sunday we decided to spend some
time at the [Omaha Children's Muesum](http://www.ocm.org/) because
that was a good place for Leah to run around and play yet not get too
heated.
I think that Omaha’s Children Muesum is an almost unknown asset of my
fair city. Of course, it is *known* because the place was packed. But
for children from ages 3-8, I can’t think of a better thing than to
get a membership at the Muesum.
Anyway, Leah loves the place. She doesn’t walk from place-to-place –
she runs. And for the first hour she is never sure what to do next.
She ends up going from one activity, playing a little, and then moving
to the next one. She always ends up spending a lot of time in the
little grocery store — she loves to pretend she’s shopping and
putting the items in the little checkout line. The OCM’s special
exhibit is [Bob the
Builder](http://www.bobthebuilder.com/usa/intro.html). It takes up
most of their second floor and Leah loved each and every thing.
We spent almost two and a half hours there and we didn’t even see it
all — the cool Science Center. Leah was too busy shopping to do
that.
And where did we go after that? Well, when we got back to our van the
temperature gauge said 106F! So we headed to [Ted and
Wally's](http://www.insiderpages.com/b/3717738425) to get cooled down
some more.
