Two Years, And Now Five More

Friday, July 27th, 2007

It was about seven years ago when we were first introduced. It took us that long to get aquatinted with each other, but I knew early on what was going to happen. Then she said yes, and now, five years ago today, we were married.

I can’t even imagine how much my life has [...]

Three More Cool Small Tools for OSX

Monday, July 23rd, 2007

Here are three tools I’ve discovered recently, at least two out of three came from FreeMacWare.com.

Deskop Manager — This is a virtual desktop manager. A lot of people have discovered this already, so I’m a late-comer. The latest stable build is for 10.3, so it runs in Rosetta on my Mac Book Pro. It runs [...]

Gina summed it up better than I ever could. Rick also has a brother-in-law who is very proud of him.

Watchless — and Loving It!

Saturday, July 21st, 2007

My watch broke just after the Fourth of July holiday. I was loading things into our van and the bar holding on the watch to the band broke. I wasn’t angry, though. The face was getting tarnished and the band was falling apart anyway, but the bar looked solid. Yeah, wasn’t [...]

Gettin’ my Groovy On

nums = [...]

Some random notes:

Geocaching Yes I went and got quite [...]

It has been near or at 100 F for three days.  Leah couldn’t go outside, and was restless.  She was really searching for something to do all day Friday and Saturday.  On Sunday we decided to spend some time at the Omaha Children’s Muesum because that was a good place for Leah to run around and play yet not [...]

Easier Unit Testing in Spring

Friday, July 6th, 2007

If you are using the Spring Framework, you should using Spring’s JUnit-based testing framework. See their docs for details. I’ll try to do a summary for the rest of what it is and why you would want to use it instead of plain JUnit. Here is a skeleton of the unit test class:// AbstractDependencyInjectionSpringContextTests is [...]

Getting Emacs more like TextMate

Wednesday, July 4th, 2007

So I got to thinking over a short break from work (and blogging) that I should re-evaluate my Emacs usage on OSX. Aquamacs’s latest is based on Emacs 22 and I’ve been doing more and more tweaks of Emacs at work to try to get it like my TextMate setup at home.  There are a few things that I [...]
