Adventure at the Dog Park
Gina had some plans this morning, so it was just Leah and I. Oh, and Copper, the dog we have been taking care of while her owners are on vacation. I told Leah that I had a surprise for her. I took her and Copper in the van, ran some errands, and we ended up at the Omaha Dog Park. I played softball there once, and also found a geocache at Hefflinger Park but hadn’t been there since it had gone to the dogs and the bikers, so to speak.
The place was hoppin’ People came and went, but I think there were thirty dogs there at once. I think there were about fifty total dogs showed up in the hour we were there. Copper isn’t much for playing with other dogs, but she did a little bit. She mostly just ran and ran and ran. Leah loves dogs, and there were many dogs there to pet and to laugh at.
Diehard dog owners are an interesting breed. They really don’t talk about their kids or their lives — just about their dogs. How old they are, how the dogs behave, how they play with other dogs, etc.
Well, we must have had a good time. Both Leah and Copper are fast asleep on the couch as I write this.
