I’m a hoarder

I realized that my login name is going to be changing at work, so I better backup all my files. Be they Word files, config files, or scripts that I have written, I don’t want to lose them alll, or just simply have the hassle of having to have a backup restored.

Almost everything I have done in my five months at my new job is on my Home drive. Yesterday I setup a couple profiles with Unison to backup these files. Using Unision is important because it will propagate changes between now and when my login changes. And, after things change, just running Unison again will restore everything. Neat, huh?

This morning I was wondering how much stuff I have hoarded in five months. I did a du -m on my backup directory and this is what I got:

1401 /c/backup

That would be just shy of 1.5GB. I think I need to clean some things up . . .
