A Father/Daughter Day

If you follow Gina’s blog you’ll note that Leah and I spent all of Monday together. Just before she left for KC, Gina and I thought for a while and figured out, remarkably, that this would be the first entire day that Leah and I were together without the help from Gina, or either of Leah’s grandmothers. In fact , we didn’t even need to see Aunt Annette, who has other things to worry about at the moment.

Leah and I played at both Westroads and Oak View’s play areas as well visitedthe library. A few tears were shed, since Leah usually sees her mom every day. Leah did not like it when her mom left nor when Leah woke up from her nap when her mom wasn’t there. When we were eating supper at Fazoli’s (one of Leah’s favorite places) she thought Gina was going to join us. Leah did go to bed on time, which was pretty amazing, but I did my best to make sure we were tired.

Having to chase after Leah all day did make myself appreciate what my wife does everyday a bit more. Sure, Leah and I had fun but we can’t have fun every day. Thanks, Gina, for the hard work you do. I’ve always appreciated it, but I appreciate it more today than two days ago. Love ya, Gina Moe.
