I’m a Wooter

I probably shouldn’t post a link to Woot because you may get addicted.  I wouldn’t say I’m addicted to Woot, I’m just saying that I’m very interested in it.

Woot has an interesting model — they only sell one thing a day and they generally sell it at a discounted price.  Once they are out of it, they are out — they don’t sell anything else that day. They also never say how many are left, so if you are thinking about it, you need to jump on it right away.  So they are feeding on impluse buying.

The exception to all this is the once or twice a month they have a “Woot off”.  Then they sell one item until it’s gone, and then sell the next.  They still are feeding off people’s impulse buying needs.

I’ve had to solve most of my impluse shopping a while ago (but it still bites me once in a while). But I’m still interested in what Woot offers every day, in case I may need it.  And one recent day, during a Woot off they did.  Gina and I discussed it first, but our old cordless phones would die after talking to someone for five minutes, so it wasn’t really much of question.  The question was the price.  Well, I found the extension phoneby itself for $35 and later found the “master” phone for $80.  So, really, it was a good deal.

Delivery was fast (FedEx! for $5!) and the phones work very well.

Thanks Woot!
